In the past, when posting, I was able to add attachments - photos not uploaded to ZooChat (or anywhere else on the web) - directly from my computer, and they would appear as attachments at the bottom of the post.

Since the upgrade I can't see how to do that now.

    :p

Hmm, interesting point. I guess you cannot any more. At the top of the box I am typing in there is a symbol for embedding media from ZooChat and two symbols for hyperlinking photos from other internet sites, but no way to directly attach a photo from the computer. Too bad as I occasionally used this feature on the old site just as you did.

Ooops! I was looking at the icons on the top bar. Thanks for clarification.

Just for the record, my intention is that uploading (attaching) photos directly to threads (and not "zoo" photos in the gallery) is done via a personal album in the photo gallery. That gives the user control over the photos that they don't get via an attachment (including the ability to delete, edit, rotate, move, re-categorise, etc).

You create a personal album, upload your photos there, then embed them using the BBCode into your thread.

    ... which gives this:

Note however, that only premium members can create personal albums.

But that button will not allow me to attach a jpeg. It only recognises zip, png, pdf and txt files.

I just discovered I could not upload a JPEG so I converted it to PNG and then uploaded. However the thumbnail is an X and not showing the image. (You can click on that to view the photo in its own window).

Please don't convert photos to PNG format - it's a very inefficient format for complex images found in photos and is much more suited to computer generated images such as logos and website graphics.

I deliberately disabled the ability to attach JPG files - please upload them to the gallery instead and embed them into your posts.
