African Manatees at Hualin Ocean Park

Does anbody knows more about African manatees at Hualin Ocean Park in Taiwan ? One of them was shown in the DVD of the Georgia Aquarium about the Transportation in 2007 of the two female whale sharks from Taiwan to Atlanta. The Georgia aquarium Stafff helped the Hualin Ocean Park with a medical treatment on this african manateee.

So I want to know more about this species at Hualin ocean Park, does anybody has more information ?

 

The Manatees were imported from the Ivory Coast in May/June 2004 - 3 west African manatees were imported from Ivory Coast to HOP. 1 died a few months later. Uncertain if any others have died since then (no reports from insiders).

Thanks, Kiang. That's the same and only information I've found also via google.

 

The female african mantee died recently. She drowned during the male was mating with her. So only one male left at Hualien Ocean Park.
