This year African Safari will open a 3.000 square meters enclosure for four male cheetahs. The zoo is planning a new 5 hectares extension for asian species such as : amur tigers, takins, red pandas, indian rhinos, orangutans, gibbons, clouded leopards, binturongs... The lands are on public ownership and will be transfer after the planning rules will have been modified by the mayor office.
A baby Common Eland was born to female Malawi on April 30th. Zoo African Safari On May 1st, twin marmosets were born. I don't know which specie so here is a photo:
Birth of two roan antelope males in the safari drive through and arrival of an amur tiger female called Irina, born in 2013 and coming from Sosto Zoo (Hungary). She will join Alta, the resident male. Very bad news from the park : Onduri, a 19 years old angolan giraffe died suddenly. The sad thing is, she was pregnant
Some novelties for the reopening : - creation of a 3.800 m2 enclosure for 4 cheetah brothers, - creation of a 580 m2 enclosure for a pair of asian small-clawed otters (female from Thoiry and male from Lyon), new species for the zoo. Picture of the otters enclosure :
