Does anyone know what happened to the African Wild Dogs? When the exhibit first opened a few years ago we would always see quite a few in there. Recently it seems like we only either see none or maybe just two dogs in the enclosure.

Considering his user name and the population of dogs he's referring to, I'm gonna say Bronx

Ya going to be honest that never entered my mind.

There are Puck and Draco who are older male dogs. The younger breeding group includes males Chili and Deuce, females Saburi and Sofia and Saburi' and Deuce's recently born 9 surviving pups.

Yes, that is correct, thank you.

This is the first thread I have created here and I thought that since I was reading the Bronx Zoo Forums at the time, that it would be created in there. Guess not!

Could the Moderators please move this thread to the Bronx Zoo Forums?

Last I checked (which was January), the zoo only had three wild dogs left. I've noticed they tend to always sleep around towards the entrance to their indoor housing, which leaves them out of sight such of the time unfortunately. I'm hoping the zoo gets new animals in sooner or later, the enclosure is large enough for a decent sized pack and they can be very lively animals. I'm sure pups would bring in a few extra heads as well.

EDIT: I did not realize this was a thread from 2016 :p
