15 Cheetah cubs were stopped by customs at Dubai Airport on 8th June after an attempt to smuggle them into the UAE from Somalia. On arrival in Dubai six had already died and another four have since passed away the remaining 2:3 are aged between four and seven weeks and are being cared for at Al Ain Wildlife Park. If they survive then they could be a major boost for the EEP breeding program Al Ain sanctuary for smuggled cubs - The National Newspaper
As UAE is now a member of CITES, I do hope the perpetrators are dealt with decisively and receive stern and just punishment.
