The monkey cages are getting renovated, and some new undecided species of monkeys soon. Alameda Park zoo's monkeys to benefit most from upgrade - Alamogordo Daily News
This is great for the little zoo! This zoo is nice, but is extremely small. The Biggest eye soar is the Capuchin cage, even though they are very entertaining. In my last visit one of them was picking the lock of the cage with a twig! This zoo does deserve the funding for projects like this, as well as looking forward to a future reptile house as well!!

So apparently this zoo is no longer with the AZA? They are not on the list of currently accredited zoos on AZA's website, but I can't find any news articles or reports about it.
I just saw the exact same thing, is it that this zoo is so small no local media outlet reported it or did the zoo keep it under raps?
This piece of news is from about 1.5 months ago, but a renovated Education Center opened. Other recent improvements include two new primate exhibits (one for patas monkeys and African crested porcupines, another for capuchins), a new perimeter fence, and the addition of a male springbok to join the female (When did this Zoo get the species as this is the first time I’ve seen them mentioned?). Alameda Park Zoo celebrates revamped Education Center
Several changes and additions are taking place, such as a couple new species in the Education Center, an entry archway, and repairs currently being done to the black bear and cougar exhibits. The Zoo is currently planning a new primate exhibit (wonder what they’ll get as their last big project was also primates). What's new at the Alameda Park Zoo
