Back in the late 90's/early 2000's, I seem to remember there being an exhibit with regular Alligators, and turtles? I may be wrong because I was young, but I can't seem to find anything that says where the exhibit may have been, if it was there. Can someone help me?

I have relatives in Houston and have been there a few times. You are correct. There was a texas bayou exhibit in front of the original elephants area. It had alligators, alligator snapping turtles and even some gar. There were some lovely cypress trees. This exhibit disappeared under the new elephant expansion. I wonder what happened to the trees. By the way, the reptile house will never be the same without Smaug the komodo dragon and Blanco the white alligator.
