Due to the tiger shows Amneville now seems to be kicked out of EAZA completely, they were already downgraded to a temporary membership, but are now out completely... For now I haven't been able to find any news articles, but they are removed from the EAZA website.

This episode is creating another wildlife logistical nightmare (with ownership of species on exhibit).
Why exclude them (whereas places like South Lakes can / could stay in all the time ....)?

Aside I do feel that on a one issue track to exclude them from the EAZA membership is silly (I felt the same way about Dvur before and even to they have been re-accepted it is still temporary membership - which is given usually to institutions who do not yet qualify for full membership and have a real backlog on enclosure design, zoo and animal husbandry management and stuff. Stuff that really is not an issue there).

-What is the current status of the eaza membership ?

    - what is the current financial status ?

    - do they plan to stop the tigershows ? (...and Maybe redevelop the show building as a indoor exhibit)

    - are there any new developments being planned ?

    - I think the zoo isn't anymore member of Eaza : impossible to find it on eaza's members map
    - Bad, the tiger show wasn't a great advertising That's why smaller projects (as for bears/wolverines) are selected instead of big instalations.
    - Nothing has been said about that, but I don't think so.
    - Same thing

IIRC, it's not EAZA anymore *because* of the tiger show.

I think he was asking it because before being banished, the zoo was classified as "temporary member"

I think it hasn't been mentioned yet here on zoochat but amneville had some really nice addition to its collection. Illegal animal trade dealers were caught and the birds in thia case were brought to amneville.

Some rare species are (no specific order)
    Cyanocorax yucatanicus (only beside Kerzers*)
Cissa chinensis (one of only five*)
    Coracias caudatus
    Melanerpes cactorum (only holder*)
    Upupa epops
    Momotus momota
Psilopogon asiaticus davisoni (only beside Stuttgart*)
Halcyon malimbica (only beside barcelona and rotterdam*)
    Psarisomus dalhousia (only*)

    *according to zootierliste

I visited the Zoo d'Amneville this month. It is a private zoo in France and like all zoos in France expensive. Admission costs 36 euros per person. All shows such as seals, parrots, birds of prey and tigers are included in the price.
The Tigershow is a dressage in the style of the eighties without the then usual burning tires. The show includes 8 male tigers. 6 Siberian and 2 white Bengal Tigers. After the show you can see the tigers in their enclosure for 30 minutes. Up to 4 tigers are then in a possibly 200 square meter enclosure without the possibility to hide. They ran around there only nervously, because in the enclosures right and left were other tigers of which they were only separated by grids. After the 30 minutes, the tigers have to return to the Tiger World building. I can not say what the enclosures in the building are, as they are not open to the public.

The Bear enclosure is nice. It was looking new to me, but I´m not sure how old it really is. This year or maybe 2 years old. I don´t know if it is a redevelopment.

They are new and look nice. Much nicer than the old bear exhibit which was awfull. I've seen a few youtube videos and it look like the exhibit is at the beginning of the zoo.

So does anyone if any old exhibits were demolished to make room and if so which ones ?

    Looks like for mammals.

The suggestion is binturong(s) on the site. Just also mentioned the species arrived not too long ago at Amneville.

It is only a suggestion on the Facebook page commentaries (and not by zoo staff). I am in some doubt though ....
