Italian authorities have seized 100 animals form the Latin safari park near Rome. The two owners of the zoo were charged criminally for illegal possession of dangerous animals.
This wasn't really a 'safari park', but a circus family having stopped in Latina and created a stable managerie. I think the wild animals are much lesser than 100.
Another piece of misinformation by news agencies (inaccurate reporting). Sadly, this is what gets done ..., a piece of window dressing. Yet a zoo like Zoo di Napoli is allowed to languish and become a hellhole and never gets anything from the authorities, least of all a decent funding base and attention to properly manage the collection and improve husbandry standards. I do fear where all the animals in the roadside zoo of the circus family may end up. I believe the end game is quite a number of "passed ons".
Misinformation is a problem at all levels regarding zoos issues here in Italy. On the positive side, there is finally a company interested in managing the Naples Zoo. This is incredibly if one think how much the zoo has been attacked by animal right people while places like Latina safaripark fluorished in the country.
