    i am however angry at ARAZPA - over one issue. that they kept quiet regarding the knowledge of the pygmy hippo abandoned at tipperary. i do believe it was known in the zoo management circles. and had they made statements to the press regarding the issue i have little doubt the animal would be right now be in a zoo rather than a taxidermists.[/QUOTE]


    Not just in a zoo but being a female could have been put to the male which is now at Taronga and instead of roaming around as a feral animal for the last 5 or 6 years may of produced a couple of calfs for the countrys breeding program for this endangered species now that could of given the program a real boost, as far as I am concerned it's a waste of a valuable animal ;)
