@Hyak_II Thank you for all the corrections as I said I am not up to date on US zoo collections :) ! Awesome to see so many places with Maleo... I assume they have all originated from the bronx ???
Also you say that there is Golden necked single wattled cassowaries in an off display breeding centre in the US... Which centre? I knew about red necked single wattled, but not golden necked.

@vogelcommando- Wisbroek has a number of aracaris and toucanets not held by any other european collections: Blue throated toucanet, saffron toucanet, Many banded aracari, spot billed toucanet. I assume they came from Dallas world aquarium, due to the species.

Correct :) although the limited gene pool is a bit of an issue.
    Also correct, I believe.

Actually, Monterey Bay is within the range of the Laysan Albatross, just not the breeding range.

Monterey Bay Aquarium now has two Laysan Albatrosses, though that's still only one facility.

True, though I wasn't sure on their status so I didn't mention. I suspect it may well be the only one though. :)

This is also kept by San Diego... definitely the zoo but possibly the safari park as well.

I saw Noisy douroucouli at Miami's Monkey Jungle in 2013. Not sure if they're still there.

And has ANYONE here actually seen the damn Greater dwarf lemur at Zurich!? When I went in 2010 I was shocked and dismayed to discover they keep the singular small nocturnal species in their gigantic free range diurnal walk through Madagascar exhibit making one's chances of seeing the animal awake let alone locating it at all next to impossible!

Don't mention the fallen Madonna with the red-footed booby. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it alright.

Certainly San Diego don't bred this species, since it's an alone individual.

I think the bank cormorant counts as well, kept at Living Coasts.

I completely overlooked the mention of Catoctin! According to the credentials and about us pages on their website, they have them: Credentials | Catoctin Wildlife Preserve & Zoo
I've never gotten around to going there, I generally avoid non-AZA zoos (and ones that make a huge deal out of white tigers), but I might have to rethink that.

I am sorry if this might be a bit off topic but as mentioned some species are kept at almost none or truly none public facility any more

But if I am not mixing things up I think I have seen a thread on here for species kept at private (european) collections that are not kept at anypublic collection any more, but I cab not find

Does anyone know such a thread on here

The only kakas outside of New Zealand are at Wilhelma.
