Doesn't Zootierliste already provide this information?

    Select Whipsnade and former holdings?

Excellent work Shorts (I'm not quoting your post :p). Perhaps now we could have threads for previously kept species at chester, Edinburgh, welsh mountain, Bristol, Cotswold wildlife park - should I go on). Perhaps we could go into the other forums, the two Berlins, or Köln or Arnhem or Rotterdam? Perhaps Zurich or plzen or Madrid, Lisboa's collections or Valencia, Paris or Mulhouse?

Actually, maybe not a good idea. I think we need to keep zootierliste as a separate resource.

Fully concur, I was trying to "short" (no pun intended) this inane/absurd thread and cease it (like those controlled explosions of burning oil rigs).

London Zoo has a huge history of keeping very rare species. Many of those are no longer in Europe and some are even extinct. There are so many animals kept at London in the past, zootierliste lists 4,784 former inventory animals and I'm sure that there are more. Many of these species are incredibly interesting and many very little known and with such a huge history of London Zoo you would expect many interesting things to have been in the collection, especially with it at one point being a leading place for research that involved capturing the rarest of species. Read the zoo quest books by David Attenborough or some of the earlier books to do with animal collecting by Gerald Durrell.
I don't mean to belittle your idea of a thread but this one is a bit of a dead end.

lowland anoa, please don't. That was sarcasm.

Yes but the case with London is many of the species HAVE NEVER BEEN KEPT ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD,whilst Whipsnade I doubt would throw up any species that has not kept in atleast 1 other collection in the UK!!!

The other point of course is that the Regent's Park thread consists more of discussion of formerly held species, whilst this one is designed merely to list formerly held species.
