That birb was quite the charming fellow. I miss him.

You can still see the bird if you log out.

It's funny, because earlier in the day that the OP posted I was wondering if a small bird was a particularly good choice for a Zoo forum logo. What is it btw? A red capped robin?

Now that you can pay a few hundred bucks to get a species named whatever you want, we should get some sort insect named zoochatensis and use that as the mascot.

    I think it's a (Crimson?) chat - i.e. 'the Zoo-Chat'. :D

    Only just noticed this thread!

Yes, the bird I used as the logo for ZooChat was indeed a Crimson Chat

... it became known as the "ZooChat Chat".

In fact, the photo I used was taken at Taronga Zoo, so not only is it a ZooChat Chat ...

... it is actually a "ZooChat Zoo Chat" :D

I just came to the realization that I must of "discovered" this website a lot sooner than I thought. After seeing that bird I recalled seeing that exact same logo years ago when I just started really using the computer. I remember thinking this website "looked interesting" but I forgot what it was called and eventually forgot about it.

I also found this website quite some time ago (when the Crimson Chat was the mascot) and only about two years ago decided to create an account.

When you re-re-design the site can we please have the logo with the bird back?

@Simon Hampel You have been mentioning the next version of ZooChat (v4?) for some time now, when are we getting it?

Maybe you could consider to rename the site "ZooBeat". I think it's worth thinking about it ;)

Are you being sarcastic here? I really think "ZooChat" is the better title.

Back in the bad old days (i.e. before I was a member) the site was called ZooBeat. ;)

But if the site is renamed, will the ZooChat Zoo Chat ever fly back? :p

I know that, I was asking if they were sarcastic about wanting it back. I think ZooChat is the better name because ZooBeat sounds like a forum for animal abusers! :p

And it goes with PropertyChat, the other forum @Simon Hampel runs.
