Yesterday, the phantastic Aquamarine Aquarium in Iwaki, Fukoshima Prefecture, has reopened to the public, after it was flooded during the tsunami in march and then closed to the public. 200 000 fishes died after the loss of all the technial enviroments, but fortunately, the marine mammals, the birds and some fishes could be rescued, they were send to other zoos and aquariums in japan for the reconstruction of the aquarium.

17 facilities have donated more than 20,000 fishes in 300 species to Aquamarine, and all their own marine mammals have made their way back to their old homes. :)
