    Unfortunately being so public about this is really really good for Georgia Aquarium in these dark days but yeah... really bad for the Belugas in North America, and perhaps cetaceans in general.

    How many beluga are still up at Marineland of Canada?

    They're at 46 now, 23 of which are captive bred, and 6-7 pregnant females due to give birth this summer, which will put them above 50!

    I keep hoping that somehow Marineland and the US beluga exhibit holders can come to terms to allow some more of the Marineland genetics into the US.
    Not sure that will happen after the orca situation with SeaWorld.
