While in Perth on holidays a few weeks back, we drove out to Hillary's Boat Harbour and visited the Aquarium of Western Australia - AQWA. We were quite impressed with the way they had set it up - choosing to concentrate purely on fish and marine life that can be found along the WA coast. They divided the displays into sections covering the various parts of the coastline. WA is fortunate to have a vast coastline that covers quite a few different climate regions - and as a result they have a very diverse and quite "exotic" range of marine life to ba able to display. The crystal clear water really helps too - makes it very easy to get a great look at the animals in the large aquarium as the travellator slowly moves you through the tunnels. If you are in Perth and have some time to kill - try and get out to AQWA - I think it is worth it.
