It looks very pleasant. I had wondered if some may have arrived from Blackpool. Thanks for the report.

I've got to say I don't really think it looks that great. It looks perfectly adequate as an enclosure, although it would have been nice if it were much bigger, but the whole thing just looks so 'basic'. Can't help feeling it's below Banham's usually high standard.
Thanks for the photos @migdog :)

It looks more like a show-arena than a proper seal enclosure.

It does rather. It seems to be a revamp of the previous enclosure for the smaller Fur seals they had previously. The little island in the pool looks the same too.

I didn't think it looked very different from before either! It hardly looks any bigger in the photos anyway.

Recent baby Titi Monkey photos on their facebook .... and a post regarding a Puma that has been found somewhere in the county!

Does anyone know if the Leopard cubs are out in the main enclosure yet?

Could that be a carry over from April Fool's day?

The cubs are still not out in the main enclosure. Think they're waiting for a slight improvement in the weather.

I've heard from one of my Facebook groups that the leopard cubs are in the main enclosure. But still very shy and spend most time up a tree so you can't see them.

That’s correct, living in one of the big conifers most of the time, fabulous enclosure for the leopards but not great for visitors that want to see them but hopefully they will settle soon

It is a revamp, but twice as deep (over 3 metres) and with a salt water filtration system....

There appears to have been a Sea Lion birth recently, with visitor photos on facebook

Red Panda cub born on 4th July and an otter pup born recently too. Neither are particularly visible at the moment...

Had a wander around yesterday. Few things of note:

    1. It looks like they are going to provide the howler monkeys with outside tree-top access. There are some rope bridges installed leading from the enclosure to the trees nearby. Electrics yet to be installed, so not sure when this will be complete.

    2. Black-necked swan, sika deer and Egyptian fruit bat have left the collection. Fruit bat enclosure is being re-worked for a new species.

Made my first ever visit to Banham today. What a lovely Zoo, and despite what most people would have as favourites, for me its Xavier hands down. A beautiful Suffolk Punch in Suffolk, who would happily come up for a stroke and a pat, beautiful animals and sadly will probably die out in our generation.

Some cracking exhibits, and loved how the female Sloth was very active today. Sadly didn't see the Pallas Cat but got to see most of the other delights, albeit the Ocelots were sleeping. Some absolutely gorgeous Birds of Prey as well, especially the American Hawk (what a beauty) and an adorable Common Genet as well. Some massive exhibits as well and a really nice Zoo I found. Got there too late to hear most of the talks and the animal presentation they have, but would certainly look to go again soon. Really nice collection.
