Visited today and there are a couple of things of note:

Twin pygmy marmosets were born recently. They're still teeny tiny and clinging on to mum.

The male Pallas cat has passed away recently and his enclosure is currently empty. Very sad as Buck was my favourite animal at the zoo :(

The baby armadillo is now venturing out with mum and dad during the Amazing Animals show. He's almosts full size already!

Great news announced today on the Banham Zoo facebook/Instagram- a male Pallas's Cat kitten born in Wroclaw Zoo, Khal, has just arrived! Hopefully kitten bells will be in the air for him and Bella in future!
    Good luck to them!

They've also just received a female pudu, so they're back to having a breeding pair.

No I don't think so, she was brought in to breed with Buck, but it never worked out. Fingers crossed the young male can step up in time :)

Certainly, a welcome and important breeding success.

How devastating - especially given she has a three month old cub. A zoo in New Zealand lost a Cheetah with a litter of cubs this age; and since they had just been weaned - they were able to survive without keeper intervention. Unlike them, this cub has no siblings to build social skills with however. Are there any similar aged cubs within the European breeding programme?

Just before Christmas, a pair of emerald tree boas arrived at Banham Zoo.

Information comes from the Banham Zoo Facebook page.
