Continuing on my 2006 zoo tour through Java Indonesia this link refers to my visit to Banjarnegara zoo which is also known as Banjar Negara Zoo, Serulingas Zoo and Seruling mas zoo. Makes searching for the place a bit confusing. The zoo's location from a topographical point of view was very pleasant but there were very few other positives.
Local chicken breeders donated two chickens to the Serulingmas Zoo and they accept it. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPCkphTJ946/?utm_medium=copy_link
Banjarnegara Zoo and BKSDA released six Javan slow lorises to Curug Onje, Temanngung Regency. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTE0LIvpnXq/?utm_medium=copy_link
Last month, a incident has sadly occurred at the zoo. Pegawai Tewas Diterkam Harimau Benggala, Serulingmas Zoo Tutup Sementara | Republika Online Mobile
Banjarnegara Zoo received 6 saltwater crocodiles, a confiscation from BKSDA. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ceh65I7pdld/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
A pair Sumatran elephants, male Sengwong and female Roxie, has arrived in Seruling mas Zoo from Mason Elephant Park and Lodge in Bali. Seruling mas has previously kept elephants before. In 2010, an elephant died of poisoning, while in 2012, an elephant was killed by electrocution during a exhibit renovation. Now that BKSDA is involved in the care, the elephants are safer from the zoo's incompetence.
An baby female Bengal tiger, named Shereen, has been born at the zoo on October 15, from a parent named Upik and Darma.
