This week was the official opening of the renovated rocks that are part of the first Hagenbeck construction at the Antwerp Zoo (he introduced natural animal enclosures that included recreations of animals' native habitats without bars). This place in the back of the zoo is already 100 years old. Together with the other himalaya biotope with Takins and Tahrs, there is now a larger mountain biotope.
    Total cost of renovation: €1.100.000.

    Some impressions:

It's no brand new biotope. There already was a himalaya biotope with Takins, Thars and Yaks.
