Any New Animals coming to the Zoo in 2012?? What animals would you like to see the zoo bring in over the next year?
As reported on the Edinburgh thread.. Belfast has taken delivery of a large group of Gentoo Penguins whilst work is carried on the main pool in Edinburgh. 40 birds have been sent and 25 of these, plus there chicks will go back to Scotland later in the year. The remaining birds will stay on in Belfast to replace the group of Humbolts who are all going to Fota on permanent loan shortly.. Belfast Zoo welcome new penguin inmates Inside Ireland

Pengiun Chick have been born at the Zoo (5 Possibly) and 0.0.1 Crowned Pigeon have been born. Any news on any other animals born?
They are Gentoos, they recieved 40 adults from Edinburgh in March this year.I am not sure if the move of these adults is permanent or if they are just in Belfast while the scottish zoos pool is being refurbished but Belfast sent their Humboldts to Fota in Cork.
0.0.10 Pelican chicks have arrived from a zoo in Belgium. Not sure what species but can't rememer the name of the zoo!
I assume they intend to have a mix of differently aged Chileans? Any idea where the latest import came from?
