Great painting of the gorilla but not sure what the large lizard is meant to be in the tree though ...

Ok, so my bad, lol , the reason the "painting" of the gorilla looks so realistic is because it is not a painting but actually a real gorilla, lol.

It took me a second to figure out whether that Gorilla was painted or real.

I was going to say wow. The painting of the gorilla looks so real that it seems to pop out of the painting as if its alive... looks like there's a reason for that

The tapirs are and always have been in the Pachyderm Building. The anteaters used to be in Tropic World but have been moved to the Pachyderm Building.

Here is my photo of this same tile mural in Detroit Zoo's National Amphibian Conservation Center, plus the mural's stylistic twin in Detroit Zoo's Arctic Ring of Life:

I like the first one on amphibians and it kind of very very faintly reminds me in theme and colour of the Diego Riviera mural "El agua el origen de la vida" and also love that they included caecillians in it.

The polar bear / arctic one I dont particularly like , but still it is great to see art on display at zoos and I think it does enhance the ambience of zoos.

Still quite impressive though and certainly conveys to the public what the habitat of the animals looks like.

The Journey to South America exhibit area of Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Utah incorporates a very large panorama of misty rainforest hills to soften the immense wall that encloses it on one side:

That one really is beautiful and adds a lot to the aesthetics of the exhibit !

Looks like the landscape could have been modeled on the rainforests of Colombia or Venezuela in particular.

I do have a picture but the photo quality is low, my face is in the picture, and my mom didn't take pics of the other two murals. It will be a while before I return to Tama.
