Different ZooChaters have held this competition in the past. I waited all January to see if someone else would do this, and no one did. So I will be hosting it this year. Rules: 1) Photo must be posted on ZooChat and have been taken in 2018. If the date taken (not date uploaded) is not listed in the caption, please click the tab under the photo that says "information." This will give the camera info including date taken. (Photos uploaded in 2018 were not necessarily taken in 2018). 2) Submit one photo and one photo only. Please provide a link to the photo. 3) Please do NOT nominate your own photo. Deadline to nominate photos will be February 20 2019.

I'm nominating this photo by @Ding Lingwei of an Ethiopian mountain adder from December: Ethiopian mountain adder (Bitis parviocula) | ZooChat
Thank you for starting this competition @birdsandbats I have one suggestion about the time frame, I would also accept photos taken in December 2017 and uploaded in 2018, as far from everybody has the opportunity to upload photos immediately....
Finding just one image is so difficult. I particularly like photos which are not only nice portraits but also show some characteristic behaviour, so my choice is - Great argus : Hamerton : 01 Apr 2018 by ro6ca66 posted 1 Apr 2018 at 11:55 PM
