Singapore Zoo no longer keeps Polar bears but I'd say they had the best enclosure. :)

I think the best polar bear exhibit in asia is at sapporo maruyama zoo.But i think its highly debatable since theres also two enclosure which are horrible.

I don’t think it would be that ethical to keep polar bears in that sort of temperature but their enclosure is very nice

Actually Singapore has one of the most heavily criticised Polar bear exhibits worldwide :p. Hardly any land area at all, totally wrong climate, no privacy etc. I don't know what the best in Asia is but the best in the world is this:

Way, way too much water. Polar bears aren't really recreational swimmers. They swim to get to places, out of necessity, and to hunt. They do like a dip to clean and to cool off, which needs less than 1/4 of this space.

Exactly, a lot of the time zoos will make big, deep pools for their polar bears just to make it appear like a lovely enclosure to the average visitor, since having such a lot of clear perfectly blue water must make it a great exhibit…

I think that's the problem with zoorasia.Every enclosure that should be improved is usually because of size like the elephant, polar bear, jaguars and some monkeys.

Yeah but it's not just a grotto of white concrete with water on the bottom, or an all-indoor shoebox. (Which is probably 90% of all the polar bear exhibit in asia)

I would like to know your opinion on the polar bear enclosures in maruyama zoo.The new enclosure is really good but the older ones are really really bad.

It will be up there if they abandon the old cage. Hokkaido will be a much more suitable climate and it seems they have grass and dirt as natural substrate which is a great improvement .

I heard that they're gonna stop using after a while but its already been 3 years.

My guess is since they're going through there renovations, they're going to finish the other renovations then make a second enclosure.Or theyre gonna keep it there until they make they're hokkaido area since I heard its gonna be built in that area
