Thanks to all who nominated - here is the final list. Voting will remain open for two weeks (February 1-14), after which the thread will stop accepting votes. You cannot change your vote, so make sure it's your top choice. Olm Swimming (Hekinan Seaside Aquarium) Pardine Genet (Wingham Wildlife Park) Puma Running (Arizona Sonora Desert Museum) Andean Bear in Snow (Chester Zoo) Yellow Throated Marten (Twycross Zoo) White-Face Butterflyish (Sunshine Aquarium) Wild Wreathed Hornbill (Ulu Temburong National Park) Kagu Intimidated by Boot (Weltvogelpark Walsrode) Black-Breasted Leaf Turtle (Chester Zoo)
If you have not voted yet, do so now. Once you vote you can see the totals so far. One picture is clearly in the lead, with more than double the votes of the nearest competitor, but you will have to vote to find out who it is.
I thought very carefully before placing my vote. There were three photographs which really stood out to me and I wanted to make sure I went for the absolute best one. Surprisingly, the current leader wasn’t one of the photographs on my shortlist.
Zoochat just does not do photography. 36 votes?? If it was a poor snapshot of an enclosure with no animals visible would it get more views? I don't get it. I mean, I do get quality photography, but I' appear to be in minority on here..
The photo that took an early lead is still in the lead, but we have three days left. Who will the winner be? If you have not voted yet, please do it now.
I have to say @ro6ca66, you take a decent Yellow Throated Marten photo. It won my vote as I could well imagine an enlarged version of this photo framed in the office of those at Twycross Zoo who curate the animal.
The leading photo is still ahead with 15 votes, but now we have two tied for second at 11 votes each. They are catching up, so things could change over the next 24 hours.
