I totally agree with this. But, if we go back far enough into the ZooChat Archives we could probably find some cavemen arguing about whether a wolf could be happy without the social life a pack provides...

Human and canine societies are sufficiently similar for the wolf/dog transition to have worked. Many primates have been kept as pets over the centuries, but it's always been a single generation thing.
Almost this for me, too. My household is made up of just two people including myself, and I have an extremely small circle in general.
A "thing" is defined as an object that one need not, cannot, or does not wish to give a specific name to. an inanimate material object as distinct from a living sentient being. This thread is about a thing that is considered a pet; hate. Hate is usually a very strong, negative emotion, but by making it a pet hate, we soften it. Baboons are not things.
