A few bits of news from the past couple of months: *Billabong Zoo acquired Pygmy Marmosets and 2.0 Golden Lion Tamarins. Both species live in a mixed species exhibit. Great news! Billabong Zoo has now received their first ever tree-kangaroo. Mindy, a female Lumholtz's Tree-Kangaroo has been transferred from Dreamworld. This creates about 11 holders for this species in Australia with two facilities now in New South Wales: 登录 Facebook | Facebook
Billabong Zoo have just posted a 2022 summary with several newsy updates on FB page. They clearly had a productive year: the zoo have opened a new South American aviary for Blue-fronted Amazon Parrots and Blue-and-Gold Macaws. An article from early 2022 also states they have plans to acquire Short-beaked Echidna. a Little Penguin and Bush Stone-Curlew hatched at the zoo. Not news as such, but they also have a Glossy Black-Cockatoo as well. new species for the reptile collection have included Pygmy Bearded Dragon and notably both Green Iguana and Fijian Crested Iguana.
