    Hi all,
I am an international student from Sri Lanka currently studying animal Sciences in Melb. As part of one of my assingments I need to make a biosecurity zoo manual for a zoo of my choice in Victoria. I picked Halls Gap zoo. I was wondering if anyone could list me some emergency diseases that could be a likely outbreak in a zoo. Thank you.

Foot and Mouth Disease - affects hoofstock.

    Rabies.

    Newcastle Disease - affects birds.

Cryptosporidiosis. Nasty little thing, usually diagnosed on postmortem.

    Tuberculosis.

Note that the first three are unlikely events in Australian Zoos.

    :p
