Bird Collection Report

    As asked by Ituri. I got a bird list of Wings of Australasia, and I'm sharing it here.

    From Owen's Aviary side:
    1. First 3 exhibits:
    Raggiana Bird of Paradise
    2. Chestnut breasted malkoha
    3. Micronesian kingfisher
    4. Blue crowned lorikeet
    5. Mount apo lorikeet
    6. Red bellied leiothrix, Chestnut backed scimtar babbler. Blyth's tragopan. Malayan long tailed parakeet. Hooded pita. Chestnut breasted malkoha
    7. Temminck's tragopan. Sunda parrot finch. Pink headed fruit dove. Blue crowned laughing thrush. Magpie robin.
    8. Red tailed blacked cockatoo
    9. Wrinkled hornbill

    Opposite side of previous exhibits from Owens-> Gorilla Tropics:
    1. Double eyed fig parrot
    2. Collared Lory
    3. Blue eared Lory
    4. Mount goliath lorikeet
    5. Mariana fruit dove. Black throated laughing thrush. Chestnut backed scimitar babbler. White breasted woodswallow.
    6. Grosbeak starling
    7. Malayan long tailed parakeet
    8. Micronesian kingfisher.
    9. Yunnan red-faced liocichola
    10. Fairy bluebird. Beautiful fruitdove. Red billed leiothrix. Mountain peacock pheasant. White breasted woodswallow.

    From Absolutely Apes -> Gorilla tropics.
    1. Wompoo fruit dove. Superb bird of paradise. Blue crowned pigeon.
    2. Black chinned fruit dove. Blue crowned laughingthrush. Chinese Hwamei. Yellow naped woodpecker.
    3. Connected with 1 so same species.
    4. Horned parakeet.
    5. Sulawesi tarictic hornbill.

    Also these are the aviaries behind Polar bear plunge, on the path that goes to the goat turnaround.
    1. White rumped sham. Collared imperial pigeon. Polynesian scrubfowl.
    2. Crested coua. Rueppel's white-crowned shrike.
    3. Orrange bellied fruit dove. Collared finchbill. White naped pheasant pigeon. Yellow throated layghing thrush. Chinese hwamei.
    4. Kagu. Superb bird of Paradise.
    5.Papuan mountain pigeon.
    6. Collared finchbill. Mapgie robbin. Hooded Pita.
    7. Reeves Pheasant. Dollarbird. Pied imperial pigeon.
    8. Ross's turaco

    Thank you for your careful research and posting! What an awesome collection in just the Wings of Australasia alone, not to mention the rest of the zoo. Lots of species that are not seen at every zoo.

    lots of species that are barely seen at any zoo!! A very nice list there.
