What was happening in the old pond? Last time I was there it had porcupines.

It's been revamped with new viewing panels but is still home to porcupines and meerkats. Does look a lot better now though. :)

Biggest meerkat enclosure in the UK? At the moment!

I only saw two meerkats so possibly, on a meerkat per square foot ratio at least! :D

Not that I really pay attention to Meerkat enclosures... But I'd guess Blackpool's Meerkat/Aardvark exhibit is larger, and that only has two meerkats.

I recall Combe Martin having an above average sized enclosure as well.

Of the enclosures I can recall, and having seen the Woburn images... I'd say it was a toss up between Woburn and CM! Woburn probably takes it though!

I've just thought, since Pete's outdoor enclosure was already completed earlier this year does that mean the Blue cranes have already moved elsewhere/left? Because I know they were definitely kept in what is now the outdoor Komodo dragon enclosure before Pete arrived last year.

I thought the Blue Cranes were round the back just before the Komodo dragon enclosure.

The Blue Cranes are still in their enclosure. The Komodo Dragon outdoor area is the grassy area between the indoor exhibit and the Blue Crane enclosure.

A chunk of the West Midlands ZooChat Posse visited yesterday and I can report that the loris house is now occupied and should be open next week. This leaves the pygmy slow loris enclosure in the nocturnal house currently empty, hopefully something fills it soon...

Don't think this has been mentioned on here yet, but according to the parks Facebook page the capybara have been moved into a new enclosure somewhere between the sitatunga & wallaby paddocks.

The new enclosure apparently consists of new fencing, a refurbishment of the existing house (plus a new roof) and a brand new pool dug especially for the semi-aquatic giants.

In another new post on their FB page, the park has announced that a redevelopment work has begun on their former enclosure behind the saki monkey enclosure, looks like they are probably renovating it for another new species but have not yet announced what it will be...

I'm kinda hoping for either Giant anteater or maybe a Maned wolf... (I'd happily go with Tapir but am doubting it because of their large size)

The new Loris house, housing Pygmy Slow Loris and Grey Slender Loris, is now open.

The former Pygmy Slow Loris enclosure in the Nocturnal House is now occupied by a female Potto.

Woo Hoo! Potto on-show at last :)

Great news about the loris house, means I've got to try and squeeze in a final visit for the year... ;)

I visited today (probably for the last time in 2019) with @cliffxdavis and we (I) had two specific targets; slender loris and potto. Got to see a very active potto but completely struck out on the loris, despite spending around an hour in total in the new house. And on that point the loris house is a gem of an exhibit, done to the same high standard as the Komodo house, it even has the same wood panelling on the outside. It's a great conversion, much better than the old invert house that was there previously.
