Last month there are some goats born, but that is just not very important. What i wanted to share with you guys is the birth of a Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) and a Scimitar Oryx, or Scimitar-Horned Oryx (Oryx dammah) on 25juli :)

    Thanks.

Is it just me or are Scimitar-Horned Oryx beginning something of a come back in European collections? Thankfully births seem common again.

Is it true that the elephants from Antwerp are going to be transferred to Plackendael? There was talk about it on one thread, if so will Khaing Phyo Phyo give birth in Plackendael? Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

The exhibit for elephants in Planckendael will be build (following the current planning) in 2010-2012. So the birth of the next little elephant will be in Antwerp...

But it is correct, the animals of the Zoo will go the Planckendael then.
The Zoo will keep "or" males, "or" older females...
