That's because she was too rough with Esha during the introductions. They were going to wait until Esha had grown a bit bigger before trying them again.. Confirmed by the Inside Out (BBC programme) update a few weeks ago

Are there any plans at Blackpool to build new or renovate current enclosures for big cat the enclosures are small and I was just wondering. Also would there be any room to expand the orangutan enclosure because it is very small

The orangutans are at the bottom of the pile for new enclosures they only just had loads spent on them they where the big project before the elephants. Shame really plenty of room in that area to expand and give them an island like the gorilla's. Not sure how much more land they have around the new elephant House but they have a bug yard with a dead dinosaur

Yes, If you look back a page or so on this thread, I passed on a month or so ago that the next development would be the Big Cats which was confirmed at a members evening. They also confirmed long term they want Rhino's but the cats are a priority at present.

In terms of rhinos, I presume these will be white rhino?

BTW: the current situation with the Asiatic elephant herd is far from satisfactory (vis a vis the premise of transferring these out of Twycross).

Tapir house being fixed (roof was leaking and not safe). Tapirs are currently in the old Emu paddock near where the Camels used to be, just round from the Monkey House. Their house is offshow, but if out in the paddock you will see them.

The Elephant House, has a major redevelopment of the Reptile House going on at present, which is why it is closed. When this is finished it will reopen. The Camels are currently using the old Elephant inside stabling, although the long term plan is to convert this for Greater One Horned Rhino.
