Last time I visited Blackpool zoo I seem to recall that they were redeveloping the reptile section in the hall/hanger were the Elephants used to be kept. (The last time I walked through the reptile section in 2014 the seemed to have quite a lot if my memory is good!?!)

Is this still an active development, opened back up or have the reptiles just been dispersed through the other animal houses?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Just seen an article about the plans for the new big cat house. I remember one of the keepers saying a few years back when I did the big cat experience there that were hoping it to be one of the next big improvements to do after the new elephant base camp so it's good to see something happening :)

Great news. I've only been to Blackpool once several years ago and am hoping to get there again soon. From the looks of the plans, the house will be in the same area as the current house. I wonder if this means the cats will need to be housed elsewhere while work is ongoing?

not sure where they'll be housed yet until the work is all done
