Can anyone please tell me if they know of any zoo in the United States that has a Blue Footed Booby? Thanks for any and all feedback.
There are essentially no Galapagos animals outside of the islands except for tortoises. There are no blue footed boobies in captivity as far as I know.
Blue-footed Boobies are not a Galapagos endemic of course, so there is the possibility of captive individuals in Mexico and other South/Central American countries. Though I believe your statement about Galapagos animals is correct if you refer to Galapagos endemics rather than native species generally (American Flamingos) apart from the small possibility that there are sill Galapagos Doves somewhere, and animals that have been illegally smuggled.
Blue-footed boobies are maintained in captivity at Zoologico el Pantanal in Guayaquil, Ecuador, but I'm not aware of anywhere else which currently keeps them permanently.
So if they are to be put in zoos such as the ones from Galapagos. Is it illegal for the Galapagos Blue Footed Boobies to be in there?
