Hot on the heels of arrival of the arrival of Scalloped Hammerheads at Birmingham, SeaLife have turned up another nice surprise - a spectacular Bowmouth Guitarfish (Rhina ancylostoma).

Despite not actually being a shark, the species is the figurehead for the Blackpool centre's 2010 'Shark Frenzy' feature - highlighting the large collection of tropical sharks at the centre. I'd love to tell you how many species they have, but since around half-a-dozen smaller species are completely unlabelled I have no idea!

The guitarfish is not yet labelled either - hopefully when the feature is properly up and running all the species will at least be labelled (wishful thinking?).
