First mammal species to become extinct due to man-made climate change https://www.theguardian.com/environ...ies-wiped-out-by-human-induced-climate-change
There was even a plan to captive breed them.... : https://www.theguardian.com/environ...-extinction-climate-change-great-barrier-reef
Now even the government declared them extinct : Rodent becomes first 'climate change extinction': Australia officially declares the Great Barrier Reef's Bramble Cay melomys is no more
Devastating news. This news certainly doesn’t help Australia’s already very high mammal extinction rate...
Even more horrific is know that a lot (and increasing number) of people firmly believes that the human-induced climatic change is a lie, despite all the many evidences (such as this one). Including our "beloved" current USA president.
I wonder if some of them could be convinced by explaining to them the difference between climate and weather. Considering how many of them use "lol it's snowing outside" as "proof" that climate change isn't real it seems a lot of people don't know the difference. I make fun of those people, (along with people who think that real evolution is like Pokemon evolution) but I know that's immature and unproductive. What I find really stupid about it is, even if you don't believe in anthropogenic climate change, there are still plenty of other benefits from green energy. Like clean air, clean water, and energy independence. Who doesn't like clean water? What's even worse is that it's likely that quite a few politicians and corporations know that it's real, but they play up the denialism for power and profit. It reflects shortsightedness.
