    I did not click the link since I don't read Russian, but based solely on your one sentence introduction it sounds like a good idea. It would be really great if they could get a couple more founder animals (wild orphans or ?).

    1. The intiative seems governmental and regional Tatarstan republic.
    2. Advisory team includes Natural Reserve managers at Wolga - Kama Reserve and the zoos of Kazan, Perm and Moskwa.
    3. The project team will visit the Sochi center for rehabilitation of Caucasian leopard (and also a release program, all be it a different species of the Panthera grouping).
    4. The release site of any progeny is the Sayano-Shushenskaya Reserve.

    What seems likely is that some zoo offspring will be part of the founder population.
