I was just wondering if anyone has seen this: Cash-strapped Bronx Zoo evicting animals -- amNY.com I found it in under the Zoo News section in the corner-sounds pretty bad Is it even going to be possible to rehome all those the zoo wants to get rid of? If somewhere like the Bronx (which, from my British perspective, seems to be one of the biggest and most popular US zoos) is struggling, surely few other places are going to be willing to take on extra animals?
I find that really hard to believe as I can't find any news sites also running the story and the zoo just won their major budget battle of the year. I also can't see them closing WoD when their last major press release about the future of the zoo talked about revamping the space entirely.
It could still totally be true just taken out of context or something. We'll see as more news comes about/the zoo says something.
This thread is already running under another thread in the Bronx Zoo folder. It is also not exactly the most reliable and informative media source publishing this "purported" news item. News it is however ... not!
