    ( FB ) :
With a heavy heart, we say goodbye to all our visitors and animals. After many years and battles being open for young and old, we've decided to close our doors. We hope to have given a lot of joy and good memories to all of our visitors in these 12 years of existence. We also would like to thank everyone who believed in us and supported us during all those years. The aquarium will be open to the public until January 7, 2018. Don't hesitate to discover or rediscover our animals.

Any closing of a good zoo/aquarium is a very sad new, overall if it's in a big city. Do you know the reasons for closing?

The aquarium wasn't located in the touristic area from Brussels, and had a lack of visitors (and no funding from the goverment). It was a very basic setting, not modern or attractive like a sealife-branch. But even a modern look and feel or location does not guarantee a succesful aquarium. The Antwerp Aquatopia also had to close because due similar reasons...

Within the last openingweeks i made a video from the aquarium in Brussels, see
