It's another part of zoo. That is rebulding of older lion/tiger exhibit. These enclosures will adhere to Orientarium.

 

So, some news about Łódź!

New enclosures for siberian tigers and asiatic lions have been opened!

Also new exhibit for pygmy hippos has been opened till July - the inhabitant is a male, Jabari.

 

Birth of three (a girl and two boys) giant river otter pups 14th february. It's the first litter for the pair.

And this is also first ever breeding of this species in Poland.

 

A ring-tailed lemur has been born on May 7.

 

They were named Corona, Covid and Virus!!

 

A few days ago a female Javan chevrotain was born at the zoo.

According to a recent Instagram post 3 Phillippine porcupines (Hystrix pumila) can be found in the
Africa Pavilion, they will eventually move to the Orientarium. This is a new species for the zoo. The same post also mentions the following arrivals: 2-year old female Red kangaroo (Osphranter rufus) and 2 female Vicunas (Vicugna vicugna) from a zoo in Denmark.

The 2-year old female red kangaroo came from Prague zoo.

 

Does anyone have a full species list for the Orientarium at Zoo Lodz?

 

On December 2nd two Sumatran orangutans came to the zoo from zoo Basel. It is a female Ketawa and a male Budi. Resident at the Orientarium. White-faced saki (from Leipzig) and a female southern tamandua (from Duizburg) are also new residents. A male bearded emperor tamarin came from the Plock zoo and joined the lone female living in the zoo.

 

A male sun bear named Somnang recently arrived from Burgers' Zoo. According to Łódź Zoo, he will soon get a new partner.

 

A female sum bear called "BATU" will be transported from Usti nad Labem, this week.

 

Another Javan chevrotain was born in Lodz according to their Insta.

 

For so far I know, a female that came from Lodz gave birth to a Javan chevrotain in zoo Warsaw.

According to the zoos instagram a bamboo shark recently arrived, they don't mention a specific species. Could someone tell from the photo in their instagram post which species it is?

According to their FB it´s Stegostoma fasciatum.

 

The zoo now plans to open the new Orientarium at the end of March but still no exact date to find. Does anybody know it?

 

Finally, we have an opening date for the Orientarium! 29th of April.
