    That's exciting news, is she an experienced mother?

    It are her 4th and 5th baby, the gender is already known and the 2 are a male and a female.

    Other recent births include bighorn sheep, forest reindeer and 2 white bearded gnu.

    In the Mangrove-hall the Mangrove heron ( Butorides striatus ) has been bred succesfully.

    Not by far, there are several chicks every year.

    Sunday I could barely see them, because of a very caring mother :p. As far as I know they are still doing fine.

    Other news: 3 greater flamingo's hatched, there are now 4 young white bearded wildebeasts, so with a group of almost 20 animals, they now have the biggest group in Europe. Further 2 bighorn sheep were born, as is a siamang

    Blue duiker born at Burgers Zoo. They are keeping the subspecies Philatomba monticola congica.

    1,0 followed and they can be seen (with a bit of luck) in Burgers Bush.

    I visited here last week, I have to say from the zoos I've seen in Europe so far this is easily in the top 5. It has only a few enclosures that I feel could be better, but overall a fantastic experience.
    On a side note I also went to Rotterdam, and this easily fits into a Euro top 10 too.

    Recently some ( number unknown to me ) cheetas born at Burgers Zoo. Sofar not visuable for the public.

    Supposedly this baby is Likalay Lulu x N'Aika which makes it Bauwi's first grandchild!
