Welcome the least taxonomically correct thread ever posted to ZooChat! I had to combine these all because had only a handful of species each and didn't really fit as their own thread.

Here I have attempted to make a complete list of Otidiformes, Podicipediformes, Eurypygiformes, Gaviiformes, Coliiformes, Trogoniformes, and Cariamiformes present in American and Canadian collections. Only information 2018 or newer was used. Information on missing holders or species, as well as information on subspecies or populations is welcomed.

The Living Coast Discovery Center has a Western Grebe.

 

Fresno Chaffee should still have Sunbittern.

Point Defiance should still have a Red-legged Seriema.

National Aquarium has Green-backed Trogon, Louisville may still have them.

No Sunbittern at DWA?

 

Buffalo should have Green-backed, Possumwood's loon was a rehab bird (quite common), but it has since been released.

DWA holds Sunbittern.

Again San Diego Zoo should have these.

Pretty sure San Diego has these too.

Apparently Pinola Conservancy has at least one Kagu now, whether any of the four listed no longer hold them I don't know.

 

Safari North Wildlife Park has red-legged seriema

 

For the San Diego inquiries, Sunbitterns are kept in the Parker Aviary. Speckled Mousebirds I believe are kept near the Bonobos or the small aviary by the East African Kopje. And the Green Backed Trogons in the Hummingbird Habitat

 

Montreal's Biodôme has Sunbittern and Red-necked Grebe.

 

I wish the Bengal Florican, Great Bustard, and Great Grebe were in AZA collections. The Bengal Florican could definitely benefit from an ex-situ SSP. Kagu's are awesome and saw one up close in the Wings of Asia aviary at Zoo Miami.
