I saw a peacock (butterfly :)) on my most recent visit to Paignton zoo on the 13th March; it was sunning itself in the colobus monkey enclosure. Of course the climate in the south west is very mild.

In California in the last few days I have seen monarch, red admiral, spectacled white, western tiger swallowtail, Sara orangetip, and painted lady.

I have seen more bumble bees this last 2 days than I have in years, I rescued over 40 from a green house yesterday alone. Today a pussy willow tree 'Salix Capra' was covered in honey bees, bumble bees and hover flies.
