    How amazing! I wonder if this species could survive in captivity?

    Mariella Superina the world's foremost expert on the pink fairy armadillo has managed to keep one in captivity for up to 8 months I believe but just like with many other fossorial small mammals they don't tend to live very long in captivity.

    Ah ok, thank you for letting me know. What was the enclosure like for the Pink fairy armadillos kept by Mariella Superina?

    I posted a paper of hers somewhere here in this forum about one attempt to keep the animal alive in captivity (it was an injured animal).

    The main challenge apparently is ensuring that this animal eats the correct nutrition in captivity and getting them to eat seems like an uphill struggle.

    Recently I encouraged a zoochatter who is a friend of mine to interview her and you might find the video interesting because she discusses keeping the species in captivity:
