The Chatanooga Zoo plans to import a male Jaguar from Argentina. Taken from the US Federal Register: The zoo has a small, but nice shaded exhibit in the corner of the zoo. They are also in the midst of a complete renovation and expansion of this small zoo. I've been following their progress for the last nine years, and they are doing quite well for themselves...the whole zoo looks completely different from its humble and very out-dated self in 1999 when it was known as the Warner Park Zoo. It's one of the best small zoos that I have been to. City of Chattanooga There should be a plan of the zoo's masterplan on this website.
The zoo doesnt have much of a reptile collection...could you be refering to the Tennesse Aquarium also in Chattanooga? I visited a few years back and they have a mighty extensive turtle collection.

Got this year's Chattanooga Zoo map in the mail today. They use the same company and format as the Oregon Zoo (one of my favorite zoomaps). Also in the map, it mentions a complete renovation and expansion of the zoo's Jaguar exhibit that will now include two Jaguar pens in 2009!

"Misunderstood Marvels" is being demolished, and "Deserts & Forests of the World" will open in 2012: 10/20/2011 - Chattanooga Zoo Begins Demolition Process For New Exhibit - Happenings - Chattanoogan.com An excerpt from my 2010 review: Misunderstood Marvels – A small reptile/amphibian building with a white-lipped python crammed into a disgustingly tiny tank, some green iguanas, prehensile-tailed skinks, a kinkajou and a few other interesting critters. There is nothing noteworthy in terms of exhibitry.
Wow! What a mess..amazingly[for a Brit] im a member of the zoo! Why? Well its the cheapest zoo membership around but is on the AZA reciprocal entry scheme. As i generally do two U.S zoo trips per year it more than pays for itself. But the zoo is not the greatest by any means.
