Few things from a visit yesterday. Fennec foxes seem to have left the collection, their enclosure now holds a pair of Crested Porcupine Rani the female Asian Lion is still on her own after the death of Ashok The new female Fossa, Sibe, is being held in the small enclosure next to the larger one holding the male Sambara and the old female Perinet. Sibe came from the Henry Doorly Zoo, bringing a new blood-line into the European breeding programme. At the keeper talk they said they hope to introduce Sambara to Sibe around the end of March for breeding. Sibe was very interested in watching the other fossas as they patrolled their enclosure. Apparently Perinet is now too old to go into heat, which is the reason she is happily kept in with Sambara full time.
Male Asiatic lion "KAMAL" will join the collection from Assiniboine zoo. https://www.facebook.com/actuzoo/ph...716141840318/1016054231806500/?type=3&theater

Thanks for posting but really wish I hadn't clicked that link. Great story but of course can't be reported in the tabloids without repeated comments through the article about how 'terrifying' they are...
