Different Tuan :) one is a male that does indeed live at Chester, the other is a male at Monkey World.

That was the daughter correct? If so does that add hopes for a new calf in the coming years?

The studbook does not want any more young from the Chester pair.

I can remember the very first breedings of Indian rhino at Basel and Whipsnade respectively- amazing how successful this species has now become in zoos to reach this state.

Well as it does every week with Secret life of the zoo, the website has updated to now include info on the Radiated Tortoise!

It is not much but still it's something.

I remember when they were not commonly seen in zoos, and saw my first at Jersey in 1989. I thought I saw one at Dudley in 1979 but it was an Indian starred tortoise.

Its always nice to see the snipits of animals as well I feel it gets people saying oh what is that? It spreads information on the more endangered and less appreciated species as Chester zoo always do extremely well especially to me!
