Haha I imagine my luck will be better with those than the blue legged mantella!

It's easy to see the tadpoles: but, as bongorob said, we don't know for sure which species they are, and none of our ZooChat party spotted a frog of any sort in those vivariums.

Only over 3 months after the event happened but atleast it was quicker than the release of the news of the first hatching!!!

Fantastic news RE the tuatara births :D

Yeah, I only saw some tadpoles in the viv that the Mao Sons are allegedly in, but no actual frogs.

As zoogiraffe put it quite correctly yesterday, perhaps the blue-legged should be renamed 'mythical mantella'!!!

It is just a wasted viv, at least get some yellow-headed day geckos if it has to be Madagascan themed. People would see those.

Damn nice news, and when taken as a whole alongside the 2015 hatchling quite possibly the most significant breeding success at Chester for decades :)

I'm slightly confused. The article says they have 1.5 adults + 7 young. Are these 7 all from Dec 16 or do they include some from the first hatching?

Small note today the zoo is going to be closed due to the storm conditions as they have confirmed via facebook. Those who brought tickets for today can be refunded.

Tsavo aviary is still closed. Footbaths at the entrance and exit of Tropical Realm and Monsoon Forest still. All the Parrots are offshow as well as the Curassow's and Cassowary. Otherwise everything is more or less business as usual
