This is a valid point. 2 years ago I took my dad twice. On the first occasion I was able to book a scooter/wheelchair prior but on the second visit they were booked up 2 weeks before for that day!!! Prior booking especially this time of year is essential

Historically, of course, they were not surrounded on all sides by visitors.

I believe I saw three on my last visit, although i'm not sure which ones. There were two in the one enclosure and one in another.

I saw the same situation with the Cheetahs on my visit yesterday, noted down some other developments as well:

Also are there only 2 Capybara at the zoo now? Does anyone know what the rat-like animal is that's in the off-show aviary behind Fruit Bat forest. Lastly, what is the situation with the Dusky Pademelon as I saw one with the Tree Kangaroo & then 2 (One being a lot smaller) in the old Anteater paddock. Have they separated Mother & Baby for some reason?

No, there are still three (male, female, and joey) in with the Tree Kangaroo - the male tends to be visible more often than the female and joey.

I don’t know exact details of how many Capybara or Cheetah there are (apart from the fact that neither Safi nor Kinky-Tail are still alive), but it’s worth noting that with each of these species, there are opportunities for animals to hide themselves from public view.

In a discussion on Cologne getting Coquerel's sifaka on another zoo forum it was mentioned that both Bristol and Chester will also receive a pair each in 2020 from the US.

Well I was only one away in that enclosure ;)

In all seriousness, fantastic to see Chester having so much success so quickly with this species.

I thought it was them when I last visited up that way, they had screened off part of the enclosure the visited before so assumed they had new arrivals.

Can you confirm where the additional pair came from?

Now that the collection is moving on and we have new species arriving and others leaving I was wondering if the former listing in zootierlist is correct with all species held at the collection.
Will the new aviary area were the Flamingo's are currently have new species or will they just move the current species held in the collection around also what new species would you like to see in this area?

Are you sure that last figure is correct? Surely they have more individual specimens than that? I mean the Giraffe are in double figures, so are the Rhino's and the Chimps. That's at least 40 without even trying to count...

    Correct :)
@bongorob rob made a tiny mistake, by omitting a significant figure. The number of specimens should read 1203.
