    I've just been asked for an invertebrate list. I've checked and I forgot to post it.

    So for all of you who are interested in the 'creepy crawlie' type animals here it is.

    What success has chester had with it's Chelonia species? What species do they currently keep?

    If you mean snake-necked turtles I only know of two species which have been kept at Chester.

    Australian Snake-necked Terrapin (Chelodina longicollis) 1966
    Roti Island Snake-necked Turtle (Chelodina mccordi) 2004-still in the zoo

    If you did mean Chelonia the only species I know of is the green turtle

    Atlantic Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas mydas) 1964-1971

    I meant the whole group that contains turtles and tortoises. Could you answer the above questions in regards to the whole turtle and tortoises kept at Chester.

    Hornbill I know of these turtle breedings at Chester

    African Spurred Tortoise (Geochelone sulcata) 1979 7 first European breeding of what was then a rare species in captivity

    Red-footed Tortoise (Chelonoidas carbonaria) 2001 5; 2002 15

    Yellow-footed Tortoise (Chelonoidas denticulata) 2005 1; 2006 7

    Greek Tortoise (Testudo graeca) 1984 5; 1985 1

    Hermann's Tortoise (Testudo hermanni) 1984 2

    Egyptian Tortoise (Testudo kleinmanni) 2005 7; 2006 10; 2007 3

    Pancake Tortoise (Malacochersus tornieri) 2006 1; 2007 2

    Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina) 1990 2; 1991 1; 1992 1; 1993 1

    Malayan Box Turtle (Cuora amboiensis) 1997 3; 1998 1; 1999 2; 2000 4

    Chinese Three-striped Box Turtle (Cuora trifasciata) 2007 4 first UK breeding

    Black Marsh Turtle (Siebenrockiella crassicollis) 2006 5 (1 did not survive); 2007 1
